Blog Journal 10
Assignment 5
While I have always seen PowerPoints that are created in the fashion of a game I did not know that these were called nonlinear PowerPoints. From working on this assignment I have gained a wealth of new skills that I previously not had. I've had the pleasure of working on this assignment to create a PowerPoint learning experience that is fun, engaging, and interactive. One of the things that I really liked about this assignment was how it challenged me to test my skill set and attempt to learn new methods of PowerPoint design. I do not have anything I dislike from this assignment as it was fun and engaging. In the future, I hope to improve it by making my PowerPoint design more complex by adding more click Throughs and even more if-then modifications to the overall design.
Surveys in The Classroom
Surveys can be a very beneficial method to collect student data and gauge feedback in a manner that allows students to remain anonymous and share their trustest thoughts. As a teacher in the classroom, I will utilize surveys to allow my students the chance to give their feedback on how they feel the pace of the class is going. I think this will be very beneficial as my class, 11th-grade Technological Studies will cover hard topics rather quickly, therefore in order to gauge the pace of subject-level mastery. I will use surveys to let my students give their feedback on topics we are working on in class.
Classmates’ Blogs
Throughout the course of this semester one of the topics that I found the most interesting from my classmates' blogs was their websites. It was very interesting to see how students would design their websites if they were teachers. These activities allowed my classmates to share their own individualized expressions of what their classroom would look like and how they would work to ensure that students feel welcomed and can thrive in learning environments. By making everything accessible to the other class blogs it was easy to find my classmates' websites and ways to directly reach out and share some of my ideas and thoughts with them. This was most interesting to me!
Digital Badges
In this class, digital badges have served as a way to showcase publicly the accomplishments that we've done throughout the course. In my experience, I have gained a few tech flex badges and even a digital badge which can be redeemed for a token in the long run. I have thoroughly enjoyed the various little activities and challenges that I had to complete in order to obtain these badges. Below you will find displayed the badges that I have earned throughout the semester for the challenges I've completed. I look forward to completing more challenges and earning more badges!
I think the technology-related skill that I would love to learn next would be the art of podcasting. I think podcasts can be quite overlooked for the greatness that they possess. For many individuals who are continuously on the go or may not like traditional learning methods such as watching a video or sitting in a lecture podcasts can be a great way for them to stay connected. As a teacher, I would utilize podcasts in addition to my traditional teaching methods to ensure that I am able to reach all students in a fashionable way. Through the use of this technology, I'll be sure to make learning in my classroom so much more enjoyable and fun. I would go about learning this skill by utilizing the wealth of resources that exist on the open web such as YouTube, LinkedIn learning, and other platforms to best learn how to produce and put out great content for my students.
End of Semester - Mood Check Meme
Hi Kendrick,
ReplyDeleteLike you, I also did not know this style of powerpoint was called Non-linear, although it makes sense why it is called that. I also had a good time completing this assignment.
Hey Kendrick,
ReplyDeleteI did not think of learning about podcasts, but now that you mention it, I would like to learn about it. I think podcasts are a great tool to learn and would be beneficial in the classroom for teaching!
