Web Design Assignment
Working on the website for my Web Design assignment was a fun and engaging activity. During my time building the class site, I was able to plan out a functional and fully engaging website that allows students to find relevant class information and updates for things occurring in the class. One of the things that I really enjoyed about the assignment was the ability to develop and work on something I could call my own. This assignment offered me the creative freedom to develop my own ideas and concepts to be implemented in the manner I saw fit. The aspect of this assignment that I did not like was the amount of time it took to get everything organized and built from the ground up. Working on this assignment took me approximately 19+ hours from start to finish. Because I had not worked on this continuously I was unable to finish this assignment quickly. However, because I do have experience building and working on websites this assignment was fairly easy for me to work on. This assignment, was an overall good activity for me as I enter into a career in technology.

Working with Diigo
During my time working with the class Diigo, I have been very impressed with the application and the ability that it presents as it relates to using the bookmarking tools. During the time that I have used this website, it has been very beneficial for me to keep all of my referenced material in a centralized repository. This application can be very useful not only for me as an instructor but additionally for students as they work on assignments and learn more about professional research. During my time as an instructor, I would encourage my students to utilize this platform to keep their materials organized and ensure that they are able to properly source their references.
Technology and Teacher Professional Development
As a teacher teaching in the 21st century, it is crucial to remain relevant and updated on all the things occurring over time. I feel that this website is great and does a good job sharing information on the latest trends in technology. During my time as an instructor, I would utilize this website and similar ones to find out the latest trends and seek ways to implement them into my learning environments. When doing so I will be sure to ensure that the learning environments are fun and engaging for all students.

Hi Kendrick, great job on the website design! Overall, it was really easy to look at and got all the information on there without feeling overwhelming. I liked the contrast in size you had, particularly on the announcements page. It was clear what the title was, and what the body of the message was. You were consistent with the repetition of colors and fonts within sections. In terms of allignment, your justifications made sense, making your sections easier to read. Finally, all relevant information was spaced in a way that was efficient, so your proximity was good too. Overall, very well done!

I thought the quote by Steve Ballmer on information technology was a nice touch. I believe it also can relate to education technology and they types of software we can use in the classroom to help students learn.

Everything has its place and there isn't anything that seems out of place or that it doesn't belong. The quote that you placed on your home page adds to the website by giving it a professional feel, like if preparing the students for the real world. It also helps that you added videos to help the students if they had trouble understanding what was going on in the class.
