Experiences in EME2040

    So far I've thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being in this class and all that has had to offer. While participating in the online section of this course, I've truly grown to love and appreciate the various assignments that we have completed to prepare us for a classroom experience we may have in the near future. One thing that I really like about the classroom experience is the ability to work on assignments and utilize the blog as a point of reference to hearing from other students about what they are doing. I currently do not have anything that I dislike about the experience so far. As a teacher, something I could do to improve the classroom experience is to work to ensure that all students are able to participate and know how to reach out if they ever need assistance. This is been something that I have experienced in this course and seen the importance of.

Open Educational Resources (OER)

    Various learning environments open educational resources can be utilized to enhance the learning and engagement experience for students. There are various resources that exist instructors can find digital material and content that is free to be utilized for the purpose of education. OER Materials can thoroughly enhance the classroom experience by presenting a new way of teaching a topic from material readily available across the world. One of the most known OER platforms that exist is KhanAcademy this platform allows teachers and learners to explore and engage with various topics of materials and lessons that can be accessed in seconds for free. This platform revolutionizes education as we know it can be seen as a pioneering force for free education across the world.  

Assignment 4 

    Working on assignment four allowed me to truly flex my technical abilities in PowerPoint to create an informing and engaging presentation for future students. What I liked about the assignment was that it allowed me to use some skills I had not used in a while to create a PowerPoint show. While I had been previously exposed to this function of the application I have not used it prior in a formal setting. One aspect of the assignment that I didn't like was that it required us to create a slide layout, while this was easy it seemed redundant as the slide deck I utilized had already contained a wide assortment of layouts, however, I understand the need for this component as others may not have had a similar experience when developing their slides.
